Setu provides physical QR-coded vehicle windshield tags linked to a smart, privacy-first digital contact service. Our platform enables citizens, security personnel, parking attendants, and civic authorities to contact vehicle owners regarding urgent situations (via direct WhatsApp or cellular calling) without exposing personal phone numbers on the physical vehicle windshield.

While Setu acts as a communication bridge that prevents casual scrapers and pedestrians from reading your phone number off your vehicle windshield, Setu does not offer complete criminal anonymity. All tag activations undergo verification, and Setu fully cooperates with law enforcement and regulatory authorities where legally mandated in cases of vehicular accidents, hit-and-run investigations, or verified unlawful activities.

The Setu contact bridge is designed strictly for urgent vehicle-related situations (such as blocked driveways, towing hazards, headlights left on, open windows, or accidents). Any attempt to misuse the contact mechanism is strictly prohibited.

• Commercial promotion or marketing: Using the contact details to advertise services, market products, or solicit business.
• Harassment or abusive conduct: Transmitting threats, obscene messages, stalking, or fraudulent calls.
• Scanning vehicles without genuine need: Repeatedly triggering notifications or calls to vehicle owners without legitimate vehicular cause.

Setu reserves the right to immediately restrict, throttle, or permanently disable offending tags, accounts, or phone numbers involved in verified misuse or harassment.

Setu operates on an instant digital activation and service provisioning model:

• Instant Online Delivery: Tag activation, database routing, and dashboard provisioning occur immediately upon successful payment confirmation. There are no physical courier shipments involved for online digital activations. An official tax invoice and confirmation receipt are instantly delivered to your registered email.
• Non-refundable After Activation: Because the digital tag permit, cloud registry, and unique ID are permanently allocated upon payment, activated tags are non-refundable once claimed.
• Duplicate or Failed Payment Refunds: In case of accidental duplicate charges or network timeouts where funds are debited but the tag was not activated, a 100% refund will be automatically reversed to the original payment source within 5 to 7 business days.

No Proof of Ownership: Purchasing, configuring, or pasting a Setu Tag on a vehicle does not constitute legal proof of vehicle ownership. The tag is strictly a communication utility. Setu does not verify RC (Registration Certificate) documents and takes no responsibility for verifying the actual legal owner of the vehicle.

Voluntary Civic Tool: The Setu Tag is an independent civic communication tool. Displaying a Setu Tag does not grant permission to park in unauthorized, restricted, or no-parking zones, nor does it guarantee immunity from traffic challans, police towing, or wheel clamping. Setu bears no financial liability for parking fines or towing expenses incurred by vehicle owners.

Sticker Placement Compliance (Rule 100 CMVR 1989): Under Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR) 1989, windshield stickers must not obstruct the driver's forward field of vision. Recommended placement is behind the interior rear-view mirror (passenger side) or the top-left corner of the windshield. The vehicle owner is solely responsible for lawful physical placement on their vehicle.

Setu does not provide anonymity for criminal evasion or unlawful activities. In compliance with the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Section 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Setu strictly cooperates with Indian law enforcement agencies, traffic police, and judicial authorities. Upon receipt of valid official legal notices regarding vehicular accidents, hit-and-run incidents, or verified criminal inquiries, registered tag records and interaction timestamps will be furnished to investigating authorities.

Absolute Right to Discontinue: Setu reserves the unconditional right to modify, suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate the operation of the Setu platform, QR routing infrastructure, website, or any associated service, in whole or in part, at any time, for any commercial, technical, operational, or regulatory reasons, without penalty or liability.

Scope of "One-Time Fee" and "Zero Annual Fees": References to "Zero Annual Fees", "No Subscription", or "One-Time Permit" denote exclusively that users are exempt from recurring monthly or annual membership dues during the active operational lifespan of the platform. Such terms do not represent a perpetual, endless, or irrevocable guarantee of eternal server maintenance, business continuity, or indefinite third-party telecom availability.

Non-Refundable Upon Discontinuation: The one-time fee paid (₹125 or ₹250) covers physical tag production, unique cryptographic QR generation, cloud onboarding, and initial permit allocation. In the event of a platform shutdown or service discontinuation, fees paid are non-refundable. Users waive any right to claim refunds, compensation, damages, or statutory recourse arising from service discontinuation.

Good Faith Notice: In the event of a planned permanent shutdown of the Setu platform, Setu will make commercially reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 (thirty) calendar days advance notice via email to registered users or via a public announcement banner on the official website.

Setu provides the communication platform strictly on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we maintain high system uptime, Setu cannot be held liable for cellular carrier network outages, signal dropouts, WhatsApp delivery latency, device battery depletion, or server downtime outside our direct control.

Maximum Aggregate Liability: Under no circumstances shall Setu, its founder, operators, affiliates, or service providers be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages. In all circumstances and under all causes of action (whether in contract, tort, or consumer claims), Setu's total aggregate liability to any user shall be strictly capped and limited to the actual amount paid by the user for the specific vehicle tag permit (maximum ₹125 or ₹250).
